The peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Congress on Wednesday, has been described as an expression of democratic ideals and collective victory for members of the ruling party in Imota.
The Executive Chairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Sunday Benson, APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Ramoni Akinyemi and other stakeholders gave the commendations after the peaceful and orderly exercise produced Hon (Mrs) Munirat Adedoyin Yisa, a former Vice Chairman, Imota LCDA as the Chairman for Ward B1 Mr Adedigba Adebusoye Jones as Wad B2 Chairman and their executives.
The exercise, which took place simultaneously at the Imota Mini-Stadium for Ward B I and the party secretariat in Imota for Ward B II, attracted party faithful, delegates, leaders, and observers from across the council area.

According to the party, the congress was held in line with the directives of the state leadership of the party and was supervised by designated electoral officers. Security personnel and party officials ensured proper coordination throughout the exercise, while delegates were accredited in an orderly manner before the commencement of voting.
The LGA Party Chairman, Hon. Ramoni Akinyemi, commended the process, noting that the congress reflected the democratic ideals of the APC and its commitment to internal party democracy. According to him, the smooth conduct of the exercise demonstrated unity and maturity among members of the party in Imota LCDA.
Speaking after the exercise, the Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful nature of the congress and the high level of participation recorded. He described the outcome as a collective victory for the party and a testament to the confidence members have in its leadership structure.

Hon. Benson also added that APC in Imota LCDA through the exercise reaffirmed its dedication to unity, inclusiveness, and progressive governance, calling on members to continue supporting the party’s programmes and initiatives.
Delegates who participated in the congress also applauded the transparent procedures adopted, stating that the process was free of intimidation, irregularities, or disputes. Many described the exercise as one of the most organized congresses held in the area in recent times.
Observers present at the venue equally noted the calm atmosphere that characterized the exercise from start to finish. They commended the party executives, security agencies, and electoral officers for their professionalism and adherence to established guidelines.

At the end of the congress, newly elected ward executives were presented and congratulated by party leaders and members. The party leadership urged them to remain committed to the ideals of the APC and work tirelessly to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Party leaders also emphasized the need for sustained cooperation as the party prepares for future political engagements in the state.
